🚨Dental Emergency?
VDS Provider & DPV Partner

Government Funded
Victorian Denture Scheme.

Low-cost or no-cost dentures for eligible Victorians through DPV Health. We handle the paperwork, you get the care.

Important Notice: VDS Vouchers & Public Waitlists

Please Note: Private dental clinics cannot issue Victorian Denture Scheme (VDS) vouchers directly. You must first contact your local public community health center (such as DPV Health or Cohealth) to request treatment. If they cannot treat you within a reasonable timeframe, they will issue you a VDS voucher which you can then redeem with us. Public dental waiting lists of several months or years often apply before a voucher is issued.

If you want to skip the waiting lists and receive your dentures immediately, we offer fast-tracked Private Treatment with flexible Payment Plans, as well as direct DVA Veteran dental coverage (with no co-payments or out-of-pocket costs for eligible Gold Card holders). Call us today on (03) 9306 5432 to discuss your immediate options.

The Victorian Denture Scheme (VDS) is a government-funded program designed to provide eligible Victorians with access to high-quality, fully funded denture services. Oak Park Dental & Denture Clinic is an approved VDS provider and proud partner of DPV Health, ensuring you get expert care without the financial burden.

Common Questions

Do I have to pay anything out of pocket?
No. If you are eligible for the Victorian Denture Scheme (VDS), your standard full or partial dentures are covered by the government voucher scheme. Standard statutory co-payments (capped by DHS Victoria) apply, with zero unexpected out-of-pocket costs for approved treatments.
What types of dentures are covered?
The VDS covers complete upper and lower full dentures, acrylic partial dentures, partial relines, and emergency denture repairs. Flexible or metal partials may also be authorized where clinically necessary.
How long does the application process take?
Once your eligibility is verified and your voucher is processed, custom fabrication in our on-site dental laboratory takes 2 to 3 weeks. Emergency repairs and relines are processed same-day.
Can I get my dentures repaired or relined under VDS?
Yes! Denture relines and emergency repairs for cracks or broken teeth are covered under VDS. Thanks to our on-site laboratory, we perform most VDS repairs in 1 to 2 hours while you wait.
How do I bypass public hospital dental waiting lists using a VDS voucher?
If your local public dental clinic (e.g. DPV Health, Merri Health) has a long waitlist, you can request a VDS Private Care Voucher. You can bring this voucher directly to Oak Park Dental & Denture Clinic for immediate private treatment with zero public delay.
What documents must I bring to my initial VDS consultation?
Please bring your valid Pensioner Concession Card, Health Care Card, or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card along with your Medicare card and official VDS voucher if already issued by a public clinic.
How often can I receive new dentures under the Victorian Denture Scheme?
Under DHS Victoria guidelines, eligible concession cardholders are entitled to new full or partial dentures every 6 years. If your dentures are lost, damaged, or your mouth structure changes significantly due to surgery, an early replacement voucher can be requested.
What is the difference between VDS and the Victorian Emergency Dental Scheme (VEDS)?
VDS focuses on denture prosthetics, fabrications, relines, and structural repairs. VEDS covers urgent emergency relief of severe dental pain, acute trauma, or dental extractions required prior to denture placement.
Are flexible Valplast or metal chrome partial dentures covered under VDS?
Standard VDS vouchers cover acrylic partial dentures. If your mouth requires chrome cobalt or flexible Valplast for clinical preservation of natural teeth, prior authorization or a small co-payment difference may apply.
What happens if my VDS voucher expires before treatment starts?
VDS vouchers are generally valid for 3 months from the date of issue. If your voucher is near expiry, contact our clinic immediately—we can register your voucher into our system or assist in requesting a re-issue from the issuing health service.
